Wildlife Watching at Phu Wua Wildlife Sanctuary Did you know Thailand is a great place to see wild elephants and other endangered species? The Phu Wua Wildlife Sanctuary in NE Thailand provides a great opportunity for wild elephant trekking. There are many endangered species in the sanctuary, some, like the Phu Wua lizard, are found only here. A new species of plant was found here only last year in 2007 and exists only in the park. Why go to see African wild elephants or watch them on the wild elephant watering hole webcam when you can come to Thailand and have a different experience from the usual African safari. There are 35 wild elephants in the park. We have an Elephant Watching Tree House and a number of vantage points from which you may see them. The landscape is also breathtaking. There is a temple cave Tham Hook Cave Temple in the sanctuary containing elephant bones from the last elephant death.
